During each and every one of our flights, for every moment, someone is praying. Praying for the caterpillars, praying for the team, praying for the power of the spirit, and praying for anything else needed. We encourage the community to sign up for the prayer vigil held during each of the flights held annually. You can also help serve a meal to the caterpillars during the weekend or help create agape gifts to be handed out during a flight.

Its time to sponsor someone!

Sponsorship is the way the Chrysalis experience is passed on from person to person;
it reflects how God purposefully reaches out to people through other people.
Each participant attending a Chrysalis flight must have a sponsor, and each sponsor should
prayerfully consider the young people they recommend for the experience.
Sponsorship can be motivated by a number of hopes and prayers for young persons that are consistent with the aim of Chrysalis.

These include giving young persons the gift of three days apart

  • to experience the accepting and healing grace of God through Christian community
  • to realize that they are precious to God and are on this earth for a holy purpose
  • to discuss with non-judgemental peers and mature Christian adults their questions and struggles as young persons
  • to hear anew the gopel of God's love in Jesus Christ and the basics of Christian faith and life
  • to make friends with other youth who share the faith and will support one another in living as Christians
  • to strengthen their decision to follow Jesus
  • to better prepare themselves to live as Christian witnesses in home, school, church and community
  • to bring new vitality to the church youth group upon returning
  • to inspire the sponsorship of other youth
  • to energize the body of Christ through young people whose hearts are on fire with the love of Christ

If you are interested in sponsoring a youth to attend Chrysalis,

About Chrysalis

The objective of Chrysalis is to inspire, challenge, and equip the local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, communities and places of work. Chrysalis lifts up a way for our grace-filled lives to be lived and shared with others.

What is Chrysalis?

A Chrysalis “flight” is a three day journey with Christ for youth ages 15-18 (rising 9th – 12th grades) of any denomination. The purpose of Chrysalis is to support the church’s efforts to guide the spiritual formation of Christian young people. Providing them with an opportunity for spiritual growth and renewal, Chrysalis is a time to experience God’s grace through Christian love and support. The point of Chrysalis is to inspire a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip participants to live their lives as Christians -- at home, church, school, and in the community.

What happens during a "Flight"?

You will enjoy three days of singing, learning, laughing, worshiping, reflecting, praying and participating in small groups. Discussions center around fifteen talks given by youth and adult laity and clergy. These talks present the theme of God’s grace and how that grace comes alive in the Christian community and in the world. You’ll also discover how grace is real in your life and how you can bring that grace to others. You will have the opportunity to participate in the daily celebration of Holy Communion and to understand more fully the body of Christ. You will experience God’s grace through the prayers and acts of anonymous service and love. You will leave with an experience of Christian love in action that will equip you for new levels of grace-filled service and leadership.

Who can go to Chrysalis?

Chrysalis is open to members of any Christian denomination. Chrysalis is for the development of Christian leaders who:

  • Desire to strengthen their spiritual lives
  • Have unanswered questions about their faith
  • Understand that being a Christian disciple involves certain responsibility
  • Are willing to dedicate their everyday lives to God in an ongoing manner

Chrysalis lifts up a way for you to enjoy Christ's friendship and love and to be Christ's friend and partner in the world. The three days focus on God's grace, your experience with Christ as friend, what it means to be the body of Christ, and giving love to a needy world.

Testimonies

God used Chrysalis to give me the foundation of faith, grace, and wisdom that I needed to navigate life. It allowed me lean on him in times of trouble and doubt instead of running or hiding. God used Chrysalis to teach me the power of encouraging others with love and how to be a true servant leader.

Words Words Words

client 2 Words Words Words

It’s been 8 years since I went on my Chrysalis flight and I can honestly say it was the best thing to ever happen to me. As a mere freshman in high school, I needed something to remind me how loved I was but it did so much more for me. It lit a fire in my heart that has yet to extinguish; it taught me how to be an intentional leader. I couldn’t be more appreciative for all this movement has done in my life and the lives of many of my friends and loved ones.
